The statistic “22 A Day” is linked to the Veteran suicide epidemic in our country. The 22 represents 22 veterans who take their life daily here in America. Some movements, organizations, and fundraisers utilize this heartbreaking statistic to spread awareness of the reality that many of our Airmen from the 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing honored veterans who take their own lives, symbolized by pairs of boots, in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month during an event on Sept. 8, 2021.service members face after their time in active service ends.

Unfortunately, a recent study conducted by America’s Warrior Partnership alongside Duke and Alabama University showed reason to believe that a more accurate number may be 44 Veterans a day. Here at Mighty Oaks, we have always acted on the assumption that there’s no accurate way to track this tragic statistic and that 1 Veteran a day is too much.

Now more than ever, we need to encourage our Veterans that they are not alone. That there is hope still and that they have a greater purpose outside of their service.

This year we set a goal to reach 1,000 Warriors through our Legacy Programs in 2023, but we need your help.

One of the most significant ways to support our Warriors is by alleviating the financial burden associated with getting the care they need. Through donations from a grateful nation, we have had over 4,500 graduates from our Legacy Programs that have equipped themselves with the tools they need to live the life God intended for them. All at no cost to them.

We are able to cover their travel to and from our programs, food, and lodging and supply them with books and resources they need to change their legacy.

Please consider donating today to help us continue the fight against the Veteran Suicide epidemic in our country. Our warriors fight for your freedoms. Now that they’re home, don’t let them fight alone.
