Who Are Mighty Oaks Church Speakers?

Mighty Oaks speakers cover a wide range of topics through our programs to Veterans and Active Duty Service Members that we also bring to retreats, conferences, churches and civic events around the country. We are also a frequent guest and contributors on national media outlets (Fox News, The Blaze, CBN, Epoch Times,  American Family Radio, Forbes, Christian Post among many others) speaking on Veteran issues including Combat Trauma, PTSd and Resiliency. All of our speakers are combat Veterans or spouses of combat Veterans and have a passion to share the transformational experience that changed their world and unveiled their purpose.

Our talks on the following topics are both inspiring and challenging and can be scaled from single sessions to multi-day/multi-session retreats and conferences.

About Jeremy Stalnecker

Jeremy Stalnecker is the CEO of the Mighty Oaks Foundation, a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping America’s military warriors and their families who are suffering from the unseen wounds of combat such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

While growing up in San Jacinto, CA, Jeremy’s only goal in life was to leave home and join the Marine Corps. This dream was finally realized with an active duty commission in 1999. Following Infantry Officer Course in Quantico, VA, Jeremy was assigned to First Battalion, Fifth Marines, First Marine Division as an infantry platoon commander. Serving first as a rifle platoon commander in a helicopter company and then as the platoon commander of the counter-mechanized platoon, Jeremy learned valuable leadership and communication skills that he continues to use today. In January 2003, Fifth Marines, as a part of the First Marine Division, deployed to Kuwait in support of what would become Operation Iraqi Freedom. As the war began, First Battalion, Fifth Marines was the infantry battalion used to breech the berm separating Kuwait and Iraq and secured the first major objective of the war. This led to a road march that ended with the battalion occupying Baghdad and seizing the presidential palace in northern Baghdad on the Tigris River. Throughout this movement, Jeremy and the counter-mechanized platoon provided navigation and lead security for the battalion.

While in the Marine Corps, God was working in Jeremy’s life to turn his heart toward full-time ministry. Just one month after returning from Iraq, Jeremy became a staff member of his home church at Coastline Baptist in Oceanside, CA. Here he gained ministry experience that would equip him for the further leading of God. In his role as an Assistant Pastor, he counseled and mentored many couples and individuals while also maintaining other church responsibilities. It was a great privilege for him to be able to serve in this capacity so close to Camp Pendleton since most of the people he worked with were either Marines or the family members of Marines.

In 2008, Jeremy and his family took on a new responsibility when he became the Senior Pastor, just east of San Francisco Bay at Bay Area Baptist Church in Fremont, CA. In this capacity, he continued to minister to families and individuals in a wide range of areas. After serving in the role of senior pastor for nearly seven years, the door leading to a full-time position with the Mighty Oaks Foundation opened. This move brought together both his ministry experience and military background in a way that allows him to serve and minister to many hurting veterans, service members and their families. Along with his wife Susanne and their four children, Jeremy works to reach the hurting and provide the healing found in Christ.

Our Messages

THE IMPACT OF OUR SPEAKERS

After 20 years in the war on terror in Iraq and Afghanistan, more than half of the 2 million Veterans struggle with physical and mental health problems stemming from their service. According to the Department of Veteran Affairs, every day in America, over twenty veterans commit suicide. The V.A. Hotline receives an average of 400 calls per day. 2018 marked the highest military active duty suicide rate in 10 years. At the same time, the divorce rate among active military personnel and returning Veterans is staggering, impacting Veterans, as well as their families. Many combat vets are unable to reintegrate back into civilian life leaving their families to work through the aftermath.

For our Warriors who are struggling, the Mighty Oaks journey begins with our intensive peer-based Legacy Program. Through instruction, life-skill projects and team building, we challenge our Warriors to overcome their past experiences and move forward into a life of purpose. After more than 4,000 alumni have participated in our programs, we have and maintain one of the highest success rates of any recovery program in preventing veteran suicide and divorce. In fact, our programs are so successful that we receive hundreds of active duty military on official orders each year. Additionally, through a proactive effort, Mighty Oaks has provided Resiliency Programs to over 150,000 active duty troops on military bases worldwide.

The Mighty Oaks Foundation is a faith-based Veteran service organization that teaches combat Veterans struggling with Post Traumatic Stress how to get beyond combat trauma and live their lives in the manner God intended. Many combat vets are unable to reintegrate back into civilian life, leaving their families to deal with the aftermath of broken homes and suicide at times. By aligning their lives to Biblical principles, these Warriors are able to lead their families, their communities and our nation. Our mission is to serve and restore our nation’s Warriors and families, who have endured hardship through their service to America, and to help them find a new life purpose through hope in Christ and our resiliency and peer-to-peer recovery programs.

Testimonials

Having pastored for over 34 years in one church, I can honestly say Jeremy Stalnecker is one of my all-time favorite speakers. We have called on him a number of times to speak to our men, or to our entire congregation, and each time I have been so impressed. Jeremy is not a “one trick pony” with a few canned messages, each time when Jeremy has come to our church, he has perfectly adapted his message to our theme.  I love his combination of authenticity, humility and humor, all of which make him a 10 in my book.

— Tom Ferrell - Lead Pastor, Atascadero Bible Church

I have had the privilege and honor of having Jeremy Stalnecker speak to our church, at various Mighty Oaks events and as a keynote speaker.  As someone who attends and participates as a speaker myself both here and internationally, I believe Jeremy is one of the best and inspiring communicators I have heard. I continue to meet people who have been incredibly impacted by him and I personally have used many of his thoughts and ideas to help others move forward in life.   I would have no hesitation in recommending Jeremy for your next speaking engagement.  You won’t be disappointed and you will see the long lasting positive effect on your group long after he has left.
