Ed served for 12 years as a chaplain in the United States Army. Prior to joining the Army, he served in several churches throughout California as a youth, college, and young adult pastor. Some of Ed’s awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Purple Heart, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/Campaign Star, the Iraq Campaign Medal w/two Campaign Stars, the Army Commendation Medal (5th award), Army Achievement Medal (4th award), the Meritorious Unit Commendation, the USA Presidential Unit Citation, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Korean Defense Service Medal, the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon (6th) and the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault Badge.
