“Jesus said to him, ‘If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.’ But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.”

Matthew 19:21-22

Discipleship demands a whole-life commitment.

It requires you to give up the things you love more than God. Discipleship calls us to seek a right relationship with God and to seek His kingdom above all else.

Discipleship doesn’t necessarily mean you have to give away all your possessions in order to follow Him. But in the case of the rich young ruler, Jesus understood the man’s strong attachment to his own wealth. Keeping the commandments wasn’t enough to make the young man complete. Though he was doing everything right on the outside, not everything was right on the inside

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

Matthew 6:21

The Bible teaches us that we must pay attention to the condition of our hearts: not the muscle that pumps blood through our bodies, but the center of our being. In short, the heart is a reflection of the things we value.

“… For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. The good man brings good things out of good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.”

Matthew 12:34-35

The men of Junto Tribe understand our fallen nature, and we’ve battled against it for years. In some cases, we’ve devoted our hearts to the wrong things, and we have exchanged the freedom that God offers us for the comfort of certainty. In our efforts to escape the chaos of this world, we’ve willingly accepted a life of decay and even forms of slavery.

But today we’re striving for true freedom. We are growing in the image of God and working to bring heaven to earth.

Join us on the journey. Exchange predictability and control for growth and life. God created you for discipleship and He has a mission that you are perfectly suited to carry out.

Go forth. You are a disciple.

The Mighty Oaks Warrior journey begins with intensive peer based programs that utilize instructional sessions, camaraderie, and team building activities that are designed to challenge our Warriors to overcome their past experiences and move forward into a life of purpose. Our programs take place all across America on Military Bases, at our Outposts, and on rural ranch lodges. Each facility allows the Warriors to appreciate the peace of nature, and have an “un-plugged” experience while they focus on the challenges they face in completing the program.
