Mighty Oaks’ Legacy Programs are in full swing. Last week in San Miguel, California, we completed our second of 28 Programs for 2020, and Program #3 in Junction, Texas, began the next day. At last week’s California Program, 25 Warriors from all over the country and from all kinds of service experiences came together and began the process of realigning their lives.

For so many who attend a Legacy Program, they feel that their past mistakes and traumatizing experiences somehow prevent them from a future of hope and purpose, as if they are no longer worthy of joy and peace. Scott Harrison, founder of Charity: Water, states in his book Thirst:

“I’ve learned that no one is beyond redemption. Even if you think your past might disqualify you from a better future, I promise you, it’s never too late to make a change. One day, you’ll look back, connect the dots, and see how your past was a necessary part of the journey.”

We hear it so often at Legacy Programs. This sense of one’s past being so terrible, that it renders you unworthy of a brighter future. “You just don’t understand. I’ve screwed up so much in my life, hurt so many people, done so many terrible things. I’m just too late to get it right.”

One of the main take-aways from a Legacy Program is the understanding that it’s never too late. As long as you are willing to concede the need for the Savior, there’s time for redemption. As long as you are repentant, there’s time for forgiveness and healing to take place. And as long as you are still breathing, there’s time rewrite your story – your Legacy.

And that’s what Legacy Program is focused on: teaching principles of character, brotherhood, discipline, spiritual purity, PTSd, forgiveness, marriage, margin, and more, all from a Biblical perspective. Diving into what it looks like to live your life the way you were designed to live it, from God’s playbook, and how that will provide new purpose and lasting hope.

God allows us to make our own choices, and with every choice comes consequences, either positive or negative. But God is so much about redemption, about having relationship with each of us, that He makes it possible for us to use our stories, all of it, to make a difference in the lives of others.

So, join us this year, as we continue to help our nation’s Warriors connect the dots of their journeys and realize how God has been with them all along and that it is never too late to make a change.
