Our journey was clear, the path firm, the route cleared of all imaginable obstacles, success guaranteed.

As evening approached a fog settled over the path. At first it seemed that this apparition would be nothing more than a temporary disruption and maybe even an opportunity to pull over on the freeway of life to rest and refit.  As evening turns to night, you start to realize this fog is not temporary – your training, experience, and equipment are insufficient to cut through the darkness.  Confusion sets in as you start to question everything you always believed.  Suddenly a true and straight path is as elusive as grasping the fog that is closing down your life.

Just a few short months ago your life was full of options, employment, sport, vacation – the future was full of hope and promise, purpose and prosperity.  The aperture of life has now shrunken down to the screen on your TV or smart phone.

Every day you hope for relief, but all you hear is mask on, mask off, political debate, medical nonsense, and economic ruin.

While we have all experienced the storms of life, none of us expected the storm we have been trapped in for the last few months.  While we look for leadership, we get elected leaders protecting their future, the news media caught in lie after lie, the growth of government tyranny, and churches closing their doors to humanity in need of salvation.

Jesus talked about the storms of life and how they would come on the righteous and unrighteous alike.  In Matthew 7:24-27 He said, “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: “and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell.  And great was its fall.”

Everyone feels the effects of this global storm, none are without struggle. Some will stand, others will experience a great fall.  Fear is an extremely powerful tool of the enemy.  Men will more quickly act out of fear than they will out of principle. During a week at Mighty Oaks Men’s Legacy program we the staff get to experience the power of ‘never fighting alone’.   We once again link arms both physically and spiritually to fight every man’s battle to stay on the one true path of life and share that hope with broken men in order to change generations, for eternity.  The truth we share has never been altered by popular culture, the applause of man, or worldwide turmoil.  The truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only anchor in a world adrift and without moral foundation.

Set your foundation on the rock of Jesus – when the rain descends, the floods come and the winds blow, you will not fall.
