Recovery
Our Legacy Programs are free 5-day program retreats for veterans, first responders, and their spouses struggling with PTSD, moral injury, and the challenges of service. Held at ranches across the country, at no cost to our Warriors including travel, lodging, and meals.
Resiliency
Our Resiliency Speakers bring Mighty Oaks' message directly to military bases, first responder agencies, and community events before crisis hits. These presentations equip active-duty service members, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMS professionals with the tools to build mental, emotional, and spiritual resilience. Helping them prepare for the challenges of service rather than waiting until they're overwhelmed.
Advocacy
Mighty Oaks advocates for the men and women who serve by engaging with policymakers, speaking at national events, and raising awareness about the unique mental health challenges facing veterans and first responders. From Capitol Hill briefings to media appearances, our advocacy work ensures the voices of America's warriors are heard where it matters most.
International
Our International Programs extend Mighty Oaks' peer-led recovery model to allied military forces and first responder communities around the world. We also serve Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders and interpreters who risked their lives alongside U.S. forces by providing culturally sensitive support as they navigate life in America.
Veteran and First Responder Programs: Free PTSD Recovery, Resiliency & Advocacy
Mighty Oaks Foundation offers free veteran and first responder programs designed to help America’s warriors and their families overcome the invisible wounds of combat and service. Whether you’re a veteran dealing with post-traumatic stress, a first responder facing burnout and cumulative trauma, or a spouse seeking support, our programs meet you where you are, at no cost. Since 2011, more than 7,000 men and women have completed a Mighty Oaks program and found a path forward.
Our veteran and first responder programs are built on a simple idea: the people best equipped to help warriors heal are those who’ve walked the same path. Every Mighty Oaks program is led by peers. Combat veterans, retired first responders, and military spouses who’ve experienced the same struggles and come out the other side. This peer-to-peer model creates an environment of trust and authenticity that clinical settings often can’t replicate.
WHAT MAKES MIGHTY OAKS DIFFERENT?
Most veteran programs focus on either clinical treatment or short-term events. Mighty Oaks bridges the gap with immersive, multi-day programs that combine peer mentorship, faith-based teaching, small group sessions, and outdoor activities. Participants stay together at one of our five ranch locations across the country, building bonds that last long after the program ends.
Through the gifts and donations of a grateful nation, Mighty Oaks covers everything from travel and lodging to meals, and program materials so cost is never a barrier to getting help.
We also believe that recovery doesn’t end when the program does. Every Legacy Program graduate receives access to Mighty Oaks Aftercare, including ongoing peer support, regional Outpost gatherings, and our Marriage Program for couples navigating the challenges of service-connected stress together.
Our veteran and first responder programs are open to active-duty military, veterans of all eras, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, and the spouses of all these groups. You don’t need a diagnosis, a VA referral, or a certain number of years of service. If you’re struggling, you’re eligible.
