The Walker County Warrior Banquet held annually in Huntsville, TX is a fantastic display of the best of America. Approximately 800 folks from the community come together to share a meal, hear from speakers and raise money to sponsor Mighty Oaks sessions for men and women. This year, in addition to hearing from Mighty Oaks President Chad Robichaux, the keynote speech was delivered by the sixteenth Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps, SgtMaj Carlton Kent.

Sgt. Maj. Carlton Kent is a recipient of the General Gerald C. Thomas Award for inspirational leadership and also currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Mighty Oaks Foundation. It was an honor to hear from him at the Walker County Warrior Banquet this year.

Walker County Warrior Banquet Highlights

It was a great evening with fantastic speakers, beautiful music thanks to Branded who have earned the title of “Duo of the Year” 5 years and even had the Christian Country song of the year in 2008.

We want to thank all of the sponsors and those that donated fantastic items for both auctions. As well as thanking those who were in attendance that helped make this event such a great success. Most of all, we’d like to take a moment to appreciate the brave men and women who were not able to attend as they have paid the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedoms.

It’s through events like the Walker County Warrior Banquet that we’re able to provide our programs at no costs to our warriors. Above all, it is our mission to reach those who are brokenhearted, specifically those who have devoted their lives to the military. Through these events and gracious donors, we can help these warriors and their families find a new purpose in life through Christ. If you’re interested in learning more about our programs, or if you weren’t able to attend this great event but would still like to help; consider donating today.
